Canton Waterfront Park – Home to the Korean War Memorial

Spectacular Views of the Harbor

Located along the east entrance to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, this waterfront park is the perfect spot to enjoy some spectacular views of the water. Whether you’re just out for a morning jog or a stroll with your pet, this is a lovely place to experience Baltimore’s waterfront.

It’s also a popular spot to throw down a blanket and have a picnic. Festivals and gatherings are common here, too. The harbor is visible from the park, making it a great vantage point to watch events like the Blue Angels Air Show and Tall Ships coming into the Inner Harbor.

In addition, the park is home to Maryland’s Korean War Memorial and offers access to a boat ramp. It’s a beautiful urban destination that’s one of the city’s hidden gems. You’ll find it just a couple blocks away from Canton Square, which is a thriving neighborhood of bars, restaurants, and shops. It’s also right down the street from a number of breweries, including the two landmark breweries in Fells Point.

Easily Accessible Recreational Area

Canton Waterfront Park is Baltimore’s easternmost harbor access point and offers eight acres of spectacular views and a vista-rich recreation area. The park is a popular location for visitors who wish to run, bike, or walk the waterfront promenade. A boat ramp and fishing pier are also available at the park.

The Korean War Memorial is located within the park and contains a history of the war as well as the names of 527 Marylanders who died in the conflict. The park’s generous tree cover and expansive grassy areas make it a great place for picnicking.

Korean War Memorial

Canton Waterfront Park is a special place where visitors can take in the sights of Baltimore’s historic harbor. Its main attraction is the Korean War Memorial which pays homage to 527 Marylanders who died during the conflict. Adorned with park green space, the monument helps make Canton Waterfront Park an unmistakable treasure in a city full of charm.

The large ring of granite contains the names of the fallen soldiers on both sides, while the center features a history and a map of Korea. A flagpole on each end of the memorial bears the American, POW/MIA, and Maryland flags.

Walking Trails

Located east of Fell’s Point on the harbor, Canton is an upscale waterfront neighborhood. It’s home to the Korean War Memorial at Canton Waterfront Park, a beautiful village square rimmed with restaurants and pubs along O’Donnell Street, and the historic Norton Tin Plate and Can Company complex that now houses shops and galleries.

It’s also home to a unique urban fly fishing experience that lets you cast for striped bass, white perch, and crappie in the tidal creeks and tributaries of Baltimore City’s historic Patapsco River. This activity is available through the Angling Center at Patterson Park.

A stroll through the charming streets of Canton is a must. This neighborhood was founded by Italian immigrants who came to Baltimore in the late 1800s, and their legacy is visible in everything from the marble stoops on traditional brick row houses to a number of landmark breweries.
